Development of land that is susceptible to liquefaction and associated settlement under seismic shaking often requires ground improvement.
Working alongside our clients, specialist contractors and/or civil and structural engineers, KGA can advise on the optimum and most cost effective solution for improving the ground to mitigate the effects of seismic induced settlements in the event of future earthquakes.
Ground improvement options include jet grout columns, stone columns, piles, surface compaction and engineered soil replacement. We also have experience in remediation of tunnel gullying processes on hill sites.
KGA works in close collaboration with Jet SJ Geotecnia of Portugal to gain access to state-of-the-art design of jet-grout, stone column and other ground improvement techniques. In addition to design, KGA is able to provide pre and post soil strength testing, construction observations and geotechnical construction certification for ground improvement techniques.
